A day in the life: Programme Management Team
At PHX Ireland, transformation doesn't just happen, it’s planned, guided and driven by our Programme Management team. This dynamic group is at the heart of strategic growth, retail transformation, lean delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives across our organisation. They bridge departments, connect people, and ensure we’re moving forward with purpose and clarity.
But what does a typical day look like for the team behind the programmes? We sat down with a few of our colleagues to find out what motivates them, how they work, and what advice they’d give to those just starting out.
Andrew Maguire – Head of Programme Management
Andrew leads the Programme Management Office with a focus on strategic growth, lean transformation, and planning the rollout of a new project management methodology.
Morning Routine: His day begins with meditation and a run along the Grand Canal or through Bushy Park, a habit he’s rebuilding after some time off. This mindful start sets the tone for a focused day ahead.
Starting the Workday: Andrew arrives early, grabs a coffee, and dedicates the first hour to thinking through his priorities. This quiet planning time is key to navigating the fast-paced nature of his role.
On the Drive Home: Oasis is on repeat this summer, but he’s also a fan of GAA, golf, and business podcasts. His listening habits reflect a wide range of interests, from wellbeing to current affairs.
What He Loves Most: Bringing diverse groups together to achieve common goals, something he sees as both a challenge and a privilege.
Advice to His Younger Self: Academic success matters, but hard work and self-belief are just as critical.
Tip for New Starters: In your first week, sit down with your manager to define what success looks like and identify early wins. It’s a great way to build credibility and stay focused.
How He Delivers Quality: Andrew keeps both a "to-do" and "to-don’t" list—ensuring he avoids behaviours like unnecessary meetings when a simple conversation would suffice.
Living Our Values: Collaboration for Andrew means ensuring the right people are in the room, armed with the right information, and leaving with clarity. He also ensures new joiners feel welcomed with calendar invites not just about work, but about connection.
"I live by the collaboration rule of thumb; bring the right people into the room, bring them the right information and ensure we all walk out of the room clear as to what we need to do next." Andrew
Greg Miller – Programme Manager

Greg plays a key role in aligning project delivery with business strategy, currently focusing on retail integration and transformation.
Morning Routine: He starts the day getting his two young boys ready and off to school, before tuning into a podcast on the drive to work.
Starting the Workday: With coffee in hand, Greg reviews his calendar and outlines key priorities to ensure a productive day.
On the Drive Home: Greg switches between podcasts like The Diary of a CEO, music, and catching up with family in France.
What He Loves Most: Watching cross-functional teams come together to deliver projects that truly make a difference for PHX and its customers.
Advice to His Younger Self: Don’t be afraid to fail, take risks and build a broad skillset.
Tip for New Starters: Be curious. Learn about the business, its mission, and the people behind it.
Living Inclusivity: Having grown up in France with Irish roots and travelled extensively, Greg believes in the power of diverse perspectives to fuel better decisions, stronger teams, and successful outcomes.
"I fully embrace the value of inclusiveness because it creates an environment where people feel valued and comfortable, which in turn enables them to bring their best ideas and energy at work" Greg
Aliyah Azeez – Lean Programme Manager

Aliyah leads lean initiatives within Operations and Logistics, helping teams work smarter and more efficiently.
Morning Routine: Her day starts at 5:30am with a gym session, a non-negotiable time to reset and energise.
Starting the Workday: She maps out her priorities and checks in with teams, keeping things intentional and aligned.
On the Drive Home: Podcasts like The Diary of a CEO or The Receipts help her wind down, depending on her mood.
What She Loves Most: The variety. Whether facilitating a workshop or tackling a new challenge, no two days are ever the same.
Advice to Her Younger Self: Say yes to opportunities, even if they scare you. Growth comes from stepping outside your comfort zone.
Tip for New Starters: Ask questions and build relationships early. It’ll give you a broader view of the business and help you connect the dots faster.
Living Inclusivity: Aliyah makes a point to create space for all voices in meetings—from operators to managers. When people feel heard, trust grows, and better solutions follow.
"Living the value of inclusivity helps me stay open-minded, ask better questions, and build solutions that actually work for the teams on the ground. When people feel heard and included, they’re more engaged and that leads to better outcomes for the business" Aliyah
Aleksandr Pusakov – Project Manager

Aleksandr brings people together to plan, problem-solve and progress key initiatives across the business.
Morning Routine: His starts are quiet and gentle, often before his kids wake. Coffee is essential, and a sleepy hug from his little ones makes his morning.
Starting the Workday: A good cup of tea and a quick check of the calendar and emails help him ease into the day.
On the Drive Home: Audiobooks are his go-to, favourites include historical novels and classics like How to Win Friends and Influence People.
What He Loves Most: The people. Aleksandr thrives on collaboration and watching ideas become real, valuable outcomes.
Advice to His Younger Self: Keep going and follow your dreams. The path might not be straight, but it’s worth it.
Tip for New Starters: Be open, ask questions and don’t be afraid to get involved. Fresh eyes often bring the most valuable insights.
Living Collaboration: For Aleksandr, it’s about listening deeply, offering help, and making sure every team member feels supported and included.
"For me, being collaborative is about really listening and trying to see things from different angles. It means being supportive, understanding what people need, and making sure I am approachable." Aleksandr
Our Programme Management team is united by a passion for progress, a commitment to collaboration, and a belief in the power of people. Whether they’re leading strategic rollouts, transforming retail operations, or supporting lean projects, their impact is felt across the business.
